A Journey of Strength, Resilience & Purpose

To empower youth ages 18-24 to successfully transition into adulthood by providing safe, supportive, and structured supervised independent living opportunities. We are committed to fostering personal growth, self-sufficiency, and resilience through guidance, mentorship, and life-skills development. By offering individualized support in education, employment, housing stability, and wellness, we strive to prepare young people for long-term independence and success while ensuring they feel valued, capable, and connected to their community.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Tanya Conway is a devoted wife, mother of three adult children, and a lifelong advocate for youth and families. Her story begins with adversity that shaped her into the powerful leader she is today. A teen mother at just 14 years old, Tanya faced challenges that could have defined her future. Instead, she used them as motivation. By age 17, she secured her first job and apartment, demonstrating an independence and determination far beyond her years. These early experiences planted the seeds for her passion to support young people facing similar circumstances.

Education & Professional Growth - Tanya’s commitment to learning and personal development has guided every step of her career:

  • 1995: Became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

  • Community College of Philadelphia: Associate Degree in Criminal Justice

  • Penn State University (2017): Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice

  • Wilmington University: Master’s Degree in Administration of Human Services

Her academic journey reflects a deep belief in second chances, transformation, and lifelong learning.

35+ Years of Human Services Leadership

With more than 35 years of experience in the human services field, Tanya has dedicated her career to serving vulnerable populations, including:

  • Youth and young adults

  • Families experiencing crisis

  • Individuals facing homelessness

  • Communities impacted by trauma

  • Children involved in child welfare systems

She also served as a foster parent, gaining firsthand understanding of the complexities and gaps in support for young people aging out of care.

Tanya’s life experiences, professional training, and heart for service led her to establish Maceo Alternative Residence Inc. (MAR)—a Supervised Independent Living Program (SILP) designed for youth ages 18–24.

MAR provides:

  • Safe and stable housing

  • Life skills development

  • Education and career pathways

  • Mental health and wellness support

  • Professional opportunities & development

  • A structured, compassionate environment

Her vision is to create programs that not only houses youth, but empowers them, educates them, and equips them with the tools needed to build independent, successful lives.

Tanya’s leadership is grounded in empathy, accountability, and a deep commitment to community impact. She believes every young adult deserves access to stability, support, and opportunity—regardless of their circumstances. Her life’s mission is clear :to break cycles of instability and build pathways to independence for young adults transitioning into adulthood.
